Google Adsense – New Click Zone Rules!

Google Adsense’s New Click Zone Rules!

Google got a new news to all it’s members and advertisers about some new changes. The news is that Google is going to make it more harder to click on it’s ads from now on!

In the old AdSense setup, a reader just has to click anywhere inside the ad block to register a click and be sent to the advertiser. The new setup will require the readers to click on the actual ad title or the ad URL, ie; the click zone has been drastically reduced. The main reason for doing this according to Google:

We’re rolling out a change to our text ad formats to help reduce accidental clicks and increase value for advertisers…..This new format will match the changes we’ve implemented on Google.com to help decrease the number of accidental clicks and increase the number of ad conversions. A reduction in accidental clicks will keep users on your pages, interacting with your content until they choose to click on an ad. This change will enhance the user’s overall experience with your websites and improve advertiser campaign value, but it’s likely that your click-through rate will decrease.

This new changes might affect your AdSense earnings after making it harder to click the ads….But in my opinion that these ads are paid for from advertisers, so the advertisers got the right to get the best service for their money ie; more targeted traffic than the accidental clicks……I know that that would affect publisher’s earning (whom I am one of them), but the truth have to be said!

What is your opinion about this change?

Crap, lot of updates in a short time, they make this sound like un-responsible decisions and an easy work, anyway sometimes these updates might be helpful to some publishers and advertisers.

Yeah! I also felt sad about this changes, as my adsense earning will sure decrease….But in the other side, it is more value for advertisers who will sure get more targeted traffic to their websites…..Over all I think google is right about this change unfortunately!

  2. Making money with Adsense it’s becoming harder and harder. Couple of years ago, Adsense program was really hot

Nowdays, affiliate earnings are much more rewarding. More and more publishers go into CPA networks everyday. Adsense is paying penny per clicks .. Too bad .. I actually enjoyed it while it lasted.

  3. You need a high PR website and a lot of traffic in order to make some money with AdSense.

When this first came out I really was not happy to hear about it, but I truly feel like the long run has made it so that it’s actually been a really good move, advertisers are spending more than ever on Google Adwords, so its been a truly positive move.

    Till then,

I’m trying to look on the bright side of this as it’ll make advertising more effective which in the long term will encourage more advertising since the clicks will be more genuine. :)

  6. Google change al the time the rules, so you have to live with it or dont work with Google.
