Hide Your Affiliate Links For More Cash

September 14th, 2007 | Posted in Marketing Tools-Resources, Online Marketing Tips, SEO

Affiliate marketing is one of the biggest source of money online, and all of us are marketing some affiliate links on our site.

The main problem with affiliate links is that it is noticed (ending with an ID number or ref= …), that makes many people avoid clicking on them. When they notice it is an affiliate link they will probably think that you want them to go to that site an either register or purchase something so you can earn some money! They won’t think that it could be a good service, e-book, program, etc… that you really think that it is worth the money they would pay, that’s why you are linking to it FIRST! then comes the money you will earn as being an affiliate with them :) ….Right?!

Any way hiding your affiliate links will also help you with your search engine optimization (SEO), and getting a better rank. So here is a method you can use to hide your affiliate limks:

Redirect Them To Your Affiliate Link:

That is by creating a new page on your site and link to that page instead of your affiliate link. The page you link to will then redirect the reader to the affiliate site. Here is how it is done:

1- Create a new folder at your site to upload all your redirect pages to.

2- Now for every affiliate link create a page entering on it the following code:

<html>
<head>
<title>(Name of The site)</title>
<meta name=”robots” content=”noindex,nofollow”>
<script>window.location=”(Affiliate Link)”;</script>
<meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”1; url=(Affiliate Link)”>
</head>
<body>
<p align=”center”>You are being taken to the correct page.
<br>If the page does load after 5 seconds,
<a href=”(Affiliate Link)”>click here</a>.</p>
</body>
</html>

Replace the - (Name of The site) with the site’s name, and the (Affiliate Link) with your affiliate link, notice that you will enter the link 3 times.

3- Save the page with the name of the site (or first 3 letters) .php or .html or .htm

4- Upload the page to your redirect folder.

Now your new hidden affiliate link will look like this:

http://www.yoursite.com/redirectfoldername/thepagename.php or .html or .htm

Let’s Simplify It!

eg; If I named my redirect folder “r” and saved my redirecting page with “xyz.php” the link will look like this:

http://www.yoursite.com/r/xyz.php

Thanks to john chow for helping me with that.
