Taking Full Advantage of Your Content
The most common marketing mistake I see webmasters make is that they just don’t spend the time they need on each individual article. I conducted a case study with a website with two articles- yes, just two articles. Compare this to the myriad of articles content buyers obtain for a quick upload to their website, hoping to get SEO traffic- and then you got an interesting case study indeed.
Instead of treating every article like a tool, I treated them like they were all I had. In a sense, this is true. I wrote two 1,000 articles myself, and spent at least 3 hours on writing each one. This time and effort was soon to payoff through my marketing, at least I hoped so.
The first day I submitted the first article to my website, and also sent it straight to Digg. I received around 20 Diggs initially, and got nowhere after that. This is where the power of mutual benefit comes in. I went straight to exchanging Diggs and Stumbles with other webmasters like myself. Before I knew it, I was getting a few hundred unique.
I didn’t stop there. I submitted my article to Wikipedia- something that has proven to be excellent for traffic and SEO. I got around 40 search engine phrases leading to my content within the next couple of days. Keep in mind this is a completely new website, with no content on it before this case study.
My second article fared the same way. I am now receiving around a few hundred unique a day since the start of the study 4 days ago. I’ve made a little over $10 in Google Adsense, which isn’t bad at all. Compare this to the sub-par content that content buyers obtain. What I made in a few days is probably equivalent to what that same content buyer will make in a year from 3-4 times as many articles as I used.
After everything is said and done, it all comes back to this: content is king, and that’s how it should be treated.
